We recently spoke to Olivia about her life as Cabin Crew for easyJet.
Explore the life of a cabin crew member in aviation, including daily tasks, career paths, and tips for aspiring professionals
How long have you worked as a Cabin Crew?
I started working as Cabin Crew in November 2023.
What made you choose to pursue a career in the Aviation industry?
It was something I wanted to do from a young age but I didn’t think it was possible for me until now.
What path did you take to embark on an Aviation career?
I studied travel and tourism in college but my experience in a customer facing role in my previous job is what supported me the most.
Give us an overview of what you do on an average day in your role?
On an average day I can either do 2 sectors or 4 sectors. Safety is our main focus but I have multiple duties to complete throughout the sector. We make sure the cabin is safe and clean and complete all our checks on a regular basis. We are there for passengers for boarding, during the flight with service and duty free and then for disembarking. Once everyone is off we tidy the cabin and do it all again to come home.
What did you most love about your job?
Finding new places to explore myself. There are so many routes we do and every time I go somewhere new it becomes a destination on my travel bucket list.
What advice do you have for aspiring Cabin Crew?
When you’re ready, take the plunge! Don’t overthink it, if it’s something you have always wanted to do then do it. Try not to think about whether it’s a risk or if it’s right for you as you will never know until you try it. Also, it’s hard work but worth it.
What are your goals for the future?
In the future, I want to stay where I am but progress to Cabin Manager. Once I feel I’ve gained more experience and have worked at Easyjet for a bit longer, then I’ll start applying for roles.
