What qualifications are needed to become Cabin Crew without experience?

You picture yourself leading an adventurous life, earning money to travel the globe, collecting passport stamps, and snapping pictures for your Instagram feed. Fortunately, cabin crew jobs offer the aforementioned perks. However, you are reluctant to apply for cabin crew jobs since you do not have the relevant experience.

What if you could work as a cabin crew or flight attendant without prior experience? For other jobs, you are expected to have the training and work experience before applying, but this isn't the case for flight attendants. There is no experience necessary when the airline industry employs entry-level Cabin Crew.

Simply put, they want to know if you have the personality and aptitude to succeed as a flight attendant after completing the training they'll give you if you're recruited. So, you are thus one step closer to realising your trip aspirations.

Want to know more? Let's get started by discussing the application procedure for becoming a flight attendant and the pay and benefits of this unusual position. And that also with no experience!

What are a few advantages of working as a cabin crew?

Free flights for you

Having access to countless free flights on your airline is one of the major benefits of working as a cabin crew member. However, there's still more. Did you know that most airlines also offer complimentary trips to your spouse, dependents, and parents? If you don't have to pay for airfare, think how much less expensive a family trip will be.

Tax-only fares when flying other airlines

What if your preferred airline doesn't provide flights to a far-off place on your bucket list? Check to see if your airline has reciprocal agreements with other airlines. Most airlines will concur to give other airlines' employees and beneficiaries access to their flying benefits. In this situation, you will only be responsible for the small taxes that would typically be added to a paid ticket.

Flexible timings

In case you didn't know, seniority plays a big role in aviation. The scheduling becomes more flexible the longer you stay. Each month, flight attendants "bid" on their schedules. You get to choose exactly how your perfect schedule would appear in this case. When would you like to fly? What are your favourite places to travel to? Do you prefer layovers or out-and-backs? Domestic or abroad? Do you prefer a certain type of plane?

You can submit your ideal timetable, and a sophisticated computer system will try to create a plan that meets as many of your requirements as it can. Great, isn't that right? Once you have earned seniority and paid your dues, it truly is. Your seniority is taken into account in the matching process. They will receive almost exactly what they requested because the flight attendants with the highest seniority are matched first. There will be fewer slots available as you move down the seniority list.

The good news is that you might be able to rearrange things even if your schedule isn't exactly what you requested because switching shifts is typically rather simple. Additionally, you place a new bid each month, so your timetable is not set in stone.

How can I become a Cabin Crew (without any prior experience)?

Are you prepared to apply immediately for a flight attendant position? Great! Here is how you can get going:

1. Verify that you adhere to the prerequisites

Although each airline has its unique requirements, the following are the most common:

• Have attained Five GCSEs with a C in English and mathematics, or an equivalent;

• Be at least 18 to 21 years old;

• Read, write, understand, and speak English with ease

• Possess fundamental computer and math skills

• Meet the required height. They exist to ensure that flight attendants are not too tall for cramped quarters yet tall enough to reach the overhead bins. Five to 6 feet 3 inches is the most commonly required height range.

• Be able to pass examinations for eyesight and hearing

• Pass a physical examination

• Pass a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and drug test

   Be able to push or pull beverage and meal carts up to 250 pounds

• Pass a physical examination

2. Enhance your resume

The demand for Cabin Crew positions is high, and intense competition exists. Ensure to include any customer service experience since airlines view that as an added advantage. Format your resume correctly to make it stand out from the competition.

3. Select an airline and complete an online application.

Compare airlines and choose the best ones that match your needs. Don't forget to take the airline culture and the locations of bases with opportunities into account, in addition to the compensation and benefits. When you're prepared, submit an online application.

4. Get ready for your interview

The moment you click "apply," the next thing you should do is be ready for the initial interview. Airlines frequently conduct two rounds of interviews, first eliminating a large number of applicants through a preliminary video interview before allocating time and resources to in-person interviews for individuals they deem to be strong candidates. By paying attention to the advice of existing flight attendants hired, you may get ready to ace your interview. The fundamental preparation is the same for in-person interviews as for video ones.

Dress professionally for business. Conduct research on the airline  you are applying to. You want to know as much as you can. Examine a list of frequently asked flight attendant interview questions and evaluate your meaningful responses to each one.

5. Pass the background investigation, drug test, and physical examination

You should be fine to go once you've passed the video and in-person interviews. You must complete the background check, drug test, and physical exam procedures.

6. Complete the flight attendant education programme

You've successfully arrived at your airline, congrats! Finishing your airline's flight attendant training programme is the last step to becoming a full-fledged flight attendant. You will learn all you need to know to become a fantastic flight attendant throughout this programme, which typically lasts 6 weeks. You won't have any prior flight attendant experience when you receive your wings on graduation day and embark on your new life of adventure.
