Support for Nordica and Xfly employees

Nordica (Nordic Aviation Group AS) and Xfly (Regional Jet OÜ) have announced that they will be filing for bankruptcy. While the Estonian government started the process of privitizing the companies in 2023 and had been negotiating with Lars Thuesen, owner of Jettime, to take the companies private, Nordic Aviation Group, which runs Nordica and Xfly, were informed he would no longer be investing. The company has informed all its employees about the intention to file for bankruptcy and to cease operations.

Everybody at Aviation Job Search are saddened to hear of this development, and are here to support employees of Nordica, Xfly and anybody in the supply chain affected by this news.

Are you a fly Nordica or Xfly employee?

The Nordic Aviation Group and the people it employs have had a turbulent year and a half. We have been connecting job seekers in the aviation industry to the best airlines in the world for 25 years and have hundreds of companies and airlines registered, many of which are urgently seeking skilled aviation professionals like you.

Here is some advice and resources to get you back in the air...

1. Look after yourself

We have plenty of resources online to help you manage your mental health. For example, our partners at Aviation Action, a mental health and support charity, have written a guide on using TDODAR to manage stressful situations. If you're feeling overwhelmed, take a step back and use the same stress management model that pilots use in the flightdeck to manage abnormal, stressful situations.

2. Make sure your CV and candidate profiles are up-to-date

With the last 15 months, you have probably spent a lot of time on your personal brand. But now's a good time to revisit this, make sure your certifications are up to date, and recent achievmenets are recorded and you make your CV available to headhunters. LinkedIn is a great resource, but niche job sites like ours also allow you to upload your CV, from which you can automatically create an aviation candidate profile.

It's completely free and takes only a couple of minutes to upload your CV and create your profile, and once this is done, your CV will be available to hundreds of headhunters from airlines throughout Europe. By doing this, you're more likely to get job offers, plus it will speed up the application process when you find a new job opportunity.

3. Set up some aviation job alerts

Job hunting sucks. But you can set search alerts so that we do the searching for you. Simply search by role and location, then click the bell icon and leave the rest to us. We'll email you a digest of jobs whenever they match your search criteria. We add jobs every single day, and by getting search alerts, you can be the first to apply.

4. Network with your aviation peers

Make sure you follow Aviation Job Search on LinkedIn - we have nearly half a million other aviation professionals and it's a great place to get seen. As well as the latest jobs, you can interact with your peers and subscribe to our latest jobs newsletters.

Supporting the aviation community since 1999

We have thousands of jobs online, plus more career advice on our Career Hub including tips on writing the best CV and interview tips. Best of luck to all those displaced by Nordica and Xfly.
