Compass Forwarding is a full-service international transportation and logistics company, specializing in customized logistics solutions for over 60 years. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an Air Export Supervisor.

Position Overview:

As an Air Export Supervisor, you will be pivotal in overseeing and managing our air export operations while leading and supporting a team of dedicated professionals. This role requires a strong understanding of air freight operations, a knack for leadership, and the ability to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate air export shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the daily operations of the air export department, including but not limited to quoting, booking, documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
• Provide guidance, support, and training to the air export team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Serve as a point of contact for customers, resolving inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to optimize processes and resolve any operational issues.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing air export operations.
• Generate reports, analyze performance metrics, and implement improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• This is an on-site position. Please do not apply if you are not able to commute to Queens, NY
• Minimum 5 years of experience in air export operations within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
• IATA certification
• Hazmat training
• Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising or managing a team.
• Strong knowledge of air freight procedures, documentation, and international regulations.
• Proficiency in industry-specific software and systems (ideally, CargoWise)
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
