Summary and Objective  

Aircraft Interior Finisher 3 inspects, removes, and installs pieces or sections of an aircraft's interior, including carpeting, soundproofing, cabinets, lighting, and walls. This position is for a highly energetic individual with good people skills and decision-making metrics.   

 

Essential functions 

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. 

  • Work from noncomplex blueprints, specifications, worksheets, dimensions, color codes, mixing charts, tables, and verbal and written instructions/specifications.  

  • Prepare and clean items and surfaces to be finished.  

  • Prepare, mask, sand, buff, repair, and polish aircraft cabinets.   

  • Use of bondo and glue.  

  • Spraying polyester, polyurethane, and clear coats.  

  • Knowledge of paints and being able to mix properly (solvent base, water base, clear coats).  

  • Knowing how to do touch-ups inside the aircraft in a timely manner.  

  • Leather seat prepping, cleaning, and dying.  

  • Ability to work with and understand Corridor.  

  • Cleaning and maintenance of spray application equipment, booths, filters, PPE, and other equipment to established practices.   

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work environment  

  • While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels both inside and outside the hangar.  

  • Possible exposure to a variety of extreme weather conditions.  

  • Exposure to loud noises, including airplane machinery and jet engines.  

  

Physical demands  

  • Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces.  

  • Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.  

  • Must be able to frequently lift and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds  

  • Manual dexterity and physical strength are necessary to operate tools and/or make adjustments and repairs.  

  • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.  

  • The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-12 hours)

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

  • High School diploma or Equivalent  

  • 10+ years’ experience with sanding, prepping, cleaning, spraying, and dying required.  

  • 10+ years’ experience with mixing, paint, and solvents required.   

  • The ability to read measurements, work or calculate numbers, and use handheld tools, including handheld pallet jacks, pneumatic staple guns, industrial hot glue guns, and power drills.  

  • Candidates with prior related experience to Aviation will be given priority.   

  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification.  

  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.    

  • This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive role under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA guidelines 

Preferred education and experience  

  • 7 years of experience with corporate business jets or equivalent knowledge and skills to perform the job effectively. 

  • Corridor experience.
