Summary and Objective
The Interior Removal and Install Technician- 1 is responsible for removing, installing, and fabricating aircraft interiors. The Interior R&I Technician will also perform continuity, power and ground, and post installation operational checks of installed equipment in accordance with process specifications and FAA standards while facilitating internal and external FAA paperwork including signoffs and quality specifications.

Remove, install, and fabricate aircraft interiors
Trim, re-carpet, and soundproof aircraft interiors
Follow company design specifications and quality standards
Complete work to customers’ expectations
Fabricate, assemble, install, and terminate avionics wiring harnesses for aircraft modifications
Perform continuity, power and ground, and post-installation operational checks of installed equipment
Mark, assemble, terminate, and test wire harness to engineering drawings
Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with repair station procedures
Facilitate internal and external FAA paperwork including sign-offs and quality specifications
Apply and finish wrap materials to composite and interior panels
Inspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, modification, or repair and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
Examine maintenance records and flight logs to determine if service and maintenance checks and overhauls were performed at prescribed intervals.
Inspect new, repaired, or modified aircraft to identify damage or defects and to assess airworthiness and conformance to standards, using checklists, hand tools, and test instruments.
Approve or deny issuance of certificates of airworthiness.
Prepare and maintain detailed repair, inspection, investigation, and certification records and reports.
Skills and Abilities:
Thorough understanding of aircraft parts, systems, mechanics, and tools/testing methods for proper functioning.
Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to manual instructions to resolve complex mechanical issues.
Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination and superior workmanship.
Ability to perform consistently in a continuous fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs and learn new skills/methods of repairs.
Strong oral and written communication skills to discuss equipment malfunctions, complete reports, and represent flyExclusive core values for success.

Supervisory responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Work environment
While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels both inside and outside the hangar.
Possible exposure to a variety of extreme weather conditions.
Exposure to loud noises, including airplane machinery and jet engines.

Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify the functioning level of aircraft.
Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
Must be capable of regularly lifting, moving, pulling, and pushing objects weighing up to 75 pounds

Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or Equivalent
Good driving record
Must have shadowed toolbox and tool inventory list
1-5 years' experience in removal and installation of aircraft interiors or have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform all job tasks preferred.
Candidates with prior related experience to Aviation will be given priority.
Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification.
Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.
This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive role under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA guidelines
