Volantes Technical Recruitment is excited to offer the permanent position of Shift Supervisor (Base Maintenance) on behalf of our reputable Aberdeen-based client. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where you’ll be entrusted with the safety, efficiency, and quality control of base maintenance operations.

Role Summary

As Shift Supervisor, you will report to the Base Maintenance Manager and play a critical role in ensuring the department meets its objectives and exceeds project milestones. You will drive performance, motivate your team, and continuously identify areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will be energetic, passionate about safety, and possess strong leadership skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment where deadlines and requirements often shift due to commercial priorities.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Base Maintenance Shift Supervisor include but are not limited to:

• Leading efforts to set the standard for safety across the department.

• Quality control of aircraft maintenance, equipment, and documentation.

• Delegating and prioritizing scheduled tasks to ensure timely maintenance completion.

• Assisting the Maintenance Manager in motivating and guiding team members to meet project milestones while identifying areas for continuous improvement.

• Briefing team members on shift tasks and health and safety considerations (e.g., toolbox talks).

• Ensuring compliance with department maintenance procedures and regulations.

• Coordinating the maintenance and control of associated equipment and tooling.

• Maintaining surveillance of documentation to ensure adherence to company procedures.

• Ensuring cleanliness and orderliness of all work areas under department control.

• Acting as the point of contact for out-of-hours issues.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Recent experience in helicopter Line/Base maintenance, with significant certifying experience in a similar environment.

• A UKCAA Part 66 Licence in CAT B1.3 and/or B2 with an S92 and/or EC175 Type Rating.

• In-depth knowledge of CAA regulations, particularly Part 145 Maintenance Organisation and Continued Airworthiness.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders at all levels.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate tasks across different disciplines.

• Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and guide teams.

• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills, adaptable to shifting deadlines and priorities.

• Awareness of MSDS and COSHH requirements.

• Experience or knowledge of AMOS MRO software is desirable.

• A clear understanding of the client’s core values and the ability to promote them among team members.
