Job Summary:

Manages maintenance technicians. Develops and maintains appropriate training and operating procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the corporate aircraft maintenance department

 

Key Responsibilities:

Manages activities related to maintenance and repair of company aircraft to ensure safe maintenance and line operations; ensures the quality of aircraft, engine, and avionics maintenance and repairs; coordinates maintenance activities with flight operations.; Builds and maintains strong vendor relationships.; Assists in the development of departmental policies and procedures and helps ensure that employees are familiar with company policies, Federal Aviation Regulations, policies, manuals, and other relevant policies and practices.; Represents the maintenance team on the Cummins Aviation Safety Committee.; Prepares and distributes periodic reports and statistics as required.; Develops schedules for periodic inspections, general overhaul, repairs and modifications of company aircraft; assists with assessment of aircraft cost studies; acts on technical audit findings; documents corrective actions; updates and amends standard operating procedures manuals to reflect best practices and audit findings.; Maintains a strong understanding of the latest developments in the business aviation community, including Federal Aviation Regulations and other federal, state, local, and foreign regulations affecting operations.



Responsibilities

Competencies: 
Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Management - Performs a range of processes on aeronautical products with an emphasis on safety including servicing, inspection, rigging, trouble shooting, removal, installation, recordkeeping, testing and repairing.

Aviation Acumen - Manages aviation related processes including team and project leadership; provides aviation information while acting as a liaison with Cummins stakeholders ensuring a key focus on safety.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
Associate’s Degree preferred; Valid Driver’s License; Valid U.S. Passport; Holds valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate, and Inspector Authorizations 

Experience: 
Moderate relevant work experience in a corporate aviation department required.; Exposure to managing standardization, safety, and training in a corporate aviation department preferred.
