Employees shall perform installation, adjustment, alignment and troubleshooting for final operational and functional testing on major aircraft weapon systems, assemblies and components for the T-38 aircraft to include but not limited to: overhaul and repair of weapon systems, their assemblies, and components; such as airframes, landing gear, power plants, gear boxes, pumps, and hydraulic systems, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic and flight control systems, troubleshoots aircraft systems, components, or subassemblies forproper operation. Identifies malfunctions and takes corrective action required (whether portions must be repaired or replaced). Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles major aircraft systems, their assemblies and components. Connects related systems to the newly installed or repaired units, and makes adjustments to the units and their related mechanisms to assure their proper operation. Installs, aligns, and functionally and operationally tests the various major and minor mechanical and pneumatic systems on the aircraft during overhaul or modification, performs engine removal and installation, jacking and leveling, alignment and retraction checks, and other related routine tasks, performs miscellaneous duties such as service aircraft, flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Must ensure aircraft are in safe operating condition. May be required to drive a forklifts and/or other specialized vehicles.
