LOCATION: Las Vegas, NV with travel to California
TITLE: Aircraft Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Superintendent, Production Superintendent, or Expeditor
WORK EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years MQ-1 experience required.
Level I Mechanic: Four (4) years of Aviation Maintenance experience as Aircraft Technician, Aircraft Phase, EOR, R&R, WT, or Crash Recovery and Journeyman skill level. Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 2A353 preferred.
Level II Mechanic: Six (6) years of Aviation Maintenance experience as Aircraft Technician, Aircraft Phase, EOR, R&R, WT, or Crash Recovery and Craftsman skill level. AFSC 2A373 preferred.
Level III Mechanic (Lead): Ten (10) years of Aviation Maintenance experience as Aircraft Technician, Aircraft Phase, EOR, R&R, WT, or Crash Recovery and Expert skill level. Four (4) years of leadership and management experience. AFSC 2A393 preferred.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Must be MQ-1 engine run qualified and must have verifiable training records with MQ-1 training.
Level I Mechanic: High School diploma. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License or equivalent military/commercial aircraft maintenance experience.
Level II Mechanic: High School diploma. FAA A&P License or equivalent military/commercial aircraft maintenance experience. Engine Run certification desired.
Level III Mechanic (Lead): Associates of Applied Science degree or equivalent military/commercial aircraft maintenance experience. FAA A&P License or equivalent military/commercial aircraft maintenance experience.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
REQUIREMENTS: Current Secret Security Clearance. US Citizen or authorized immigration status. Required to travel.
Skills and Characteristics:
Excellent attention to detail. Very good communication skills both written and verbal. Excellent team member.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must meet company fitness for deployment requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Summary: Performs organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manned aircraft or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Conducts weapons loading, storage, and transport. Repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including, but not limited to, flight controls, engines, landing gear, fuel systems, Phase, EOR, Wheel and Tire and Repair and Recovery and mechanical components. Knowledge of unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and other special tools and equipment. Uses and interprets technical orders (TO’s) and technical data to apply technical expertise and knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective action.
