The Aircraft Mechanic provides aircraft maintenance services to the Aviation department with an emphasis on Christ centered service through high quality work.

Essential Functions

  • Model a high level of aviation professionalism, integrity and servanthood to our staff and student body while exercising conservative judgement and safety awareness in all operations.
  • Maintains clear channel of communication with Production Foreman.
  • Completes assigned tasks including but not limited to aircraft and component inspections, alterations, routine maintenance, repairs and service work with efficiency and quality.
  • Maintains compliance with federal regulations, manufacturer’s recommendations and company standards as outlined in the Operations Manual.
  • Maintains complete, legible and accurate maintenance recordkeeping, including but not limited to aircraft log books, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, discrepancy notations, Aircraft Condition Logs and FAA Form 337’s.
  • Uses acceptable procedures and parts to ensure application and condition on each aircraft being serviced.
  • Maintains a working environment that is adequate for the safety of department personnel and campus visitors.
  • Lead crews performing aircraft maintenance and mentor other mechanics.
  • Participate in appropriate staff meetings.
  • Serve as a representative to promote Moody Aviation on occasion.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge and unreserved commitment to MBI’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Moody Aviation’s traditional distinctives and standards
  • A&P Certification
  • Inspection Authorization
  • Two years of recent aviation maintenance experience including aircraft inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Customer Service Orientation
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accurate records
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • Over five years of aviation maintenance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and iPad

This job operates in both an office and aircraft maintenance shop environment.  This role routinely uses standard office and aircraft equipment and tools.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit. This position will frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, finger or feel and reach with hands and arms.  This position is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Occasional local and domestic air travel.
