Position: Mechanic (Rotary)                 

Location: Field based, covering Gama’s HEMS Line stations (Earls Colne, North Weald, Redhill and Henstridge)

Working Hours: 6/4/4 shift pattern

Gama Aviation are currently recuruting for an experienced Rotary Mechaic. You will be supporting Gama’s HEMS operation across our rotary line stations. The role will be focused on maintaining the AW169 & H145 helicopter to maximise availability rates across the rotary HEMS fleet.


Working a 6/4/4 shift pattern, the successful candidate will provide engineering assistance, encompassing both scheduled maintenance and AOG recovery. The field mechanic will expedite AOG rectification through minimised response times alongside LAE support.

Responsibilities:

  • Completion of all paperwork and documentation for completed work
  • Issuing of all approved materials to the work via the Company’s computer system (Corridor)
  • Complete work using approved tools and ground support equipment
  • Ensuring all work is completed in a safe and appropriate manner considering risk to personnel, property and reputation
  • Ensuring that all tooling is accounted for prior to return to service
  • Completion or all post maintenance actions
  • Completion of maintenance detailed in the Maintenance Status Report alongside the station LAE
  • Reporting defects to the Line Maintenance Manager or Planning Department
  • Reporting issues regarding Health and Safety or Flight Safety, via the Company’s reporting system (iQSMS)
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with all Company standards and adhering to legal regulations
  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work
  • Minimise our environmental impact by complying with all Company standards and adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Be mindful of the impact our operations and your actions may have on the environment, and be proactive in identifying ways that we can improve
  • Maintain knowledge of the emergency response programme policies, processes and procedures, as defined by the Emergency Response Procedures. Be prepared to respond in a crisis as an ERP representative, if required by the role.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:


Essential

  • A strong maintenance related technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical system
  • A good working knowledge of the regulations and requirements associated with aircraft maintenance, Health & Safety and Human Factors
  • The ability to take responsibility and ownership of tasks
  • The ability to understand the requirement of clear, unambiguous communication
  • Familiarity with OEM appropriate to helicopter types
  • Willingness to travel. This role is based across multiple sites to ensure effective coverage of our rotary operation – minimising downtime during AOG situations.
