Aircraft Servicer/Alternate Leadsman - Swing Shift

As a Shift Supervisor or in the absence of the Leadsman, the employee will be responsible for all Transient Alert functions.  The employee shall supervisor and perform any combination of the following duties: 

  • Recover and launch all type of Transient Aircraft including Distinguished Visitor type aircraft such as Air Force 1
  • Support all military ground aircraft operations relating to aircraft movement, departure services, aircraft inspections, and operational emergencies.
  • Acts as Facility Manager in the absence of the Leadsman
  • Supervisor personnel to ensure that each function is performed safely and in accordance with specific directives and technical data.
  • Inspect Aviation Ground Equipment Maintenance.
  • Inspect and properly document vehicles designated as emergency response for each shift.
  • Maintain the aircraft consumables list.
  • Maintain the aircraft daily log sheet and ensure that the aircraft and status board is up to date.
  • Perform required semi-annual inspections in areas such as:
    1. Supply
    2. Aircraft Operations
    3. AGE
    4. HAZMAT
    5. Tool Control
    6. Vehicles
  • Ensure the CTK Room and all issued equipment is properly logged.
  • Maintain programs such as Environmental, Technical Orders, Regulated Garbage, and Safety.
  • Assign personnel to adequately support aircraft operations for each shift.
  • Attends meetings, briefings and debriefings to support aircraft status determinations, maintenance actions, and preparation for certain Distinguished Visitor arrival or special functions
  • Maintain custody of communications equipment.
  • Order aircraft parts through supply and required consumables, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Conduct Annual Training for Personnel and ensure that training records are maintained for all personnel in the following areas:
    1. Safety
    2. Hazardous Waste – Regulated Waste – Spill Prevention
    3. Dropped Object and F.O.D. Prevention
    4. Communications Equipment

Required Experience, Training & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough working knowledge of all systems and support equipment.
  • Knowledge of Air Force Technical Orders.
  • Ability to document maintenance utilizing the Integrated Maintenance Data System. Training to include appropriate documentation of qualifications from previous employment.

 

Physical Demands

  • This position requires normal physical functions. 
  • Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing.  
  • May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.   
  • May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flight line that are noisy and dusty. 
  • May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind.  
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment when applicable.

Required Security Clearance Eligibility:  

  • Applicant must be a US Citizen and able to pass a background check with the Department of Defense.
