Aircraft Systems and Avionics Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Avionics and Systems Engineer to join their team. This role involves designing, developing, and testing advanced avionics systems for cutting-edge aircraft. As a key member of the engineering team, you’ll collaborate across disciplines to ensure seamless systems integration and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development, testing, certification, and in-service support of avionics systems for advanced aircraft.
• Apply your knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., AWM 523, 525, FAR 23, 25) to ensure compliant electrical design and integration.
• Develop electrical designs, including drafted drawings, to support required functions.
• Define and manage system requirements for safety, functionality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with system suppliers and other teams to ensure smooth integration of systems (e.g., VHF, SATCOM, TCAS, IRS, GPS, EFIS).
• Conduct and witness development and certification tests, analyzing results to support system certification.
• Liaise with certifying authorities to ensure system compliance and resolve design-related issues for both production and in-service aircraft.
• Support the development and implementation of tools and processes to advance the organization’s objectives.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in avionics systems design, integration, and testing.
• Strong familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field); relevant certifications (e.g., P.Eng) are an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
