Collins is looking for a self-motivated, passionate attorney to provide general legal counsel to the Avionics business. 

In this role you will report to the General Counsel of Avionics and be responsible for:

What You Will Do:

  • Review, drafting and negotiation of a wide range of contracts.

  • Implementation of risk management controls and policies.

  • Ad hoc legal advice on a wide range of issues.

  • Litigation management, including management of outside counsel within budget.

  • Conduct internal investigations.

  • Interaction with senior business leaders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and international)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience 

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution

  • Admission to the bar of at least 1 US state with the ability to be admitted as In-House Counsel

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Relevant law firm experience (e.g., commercial contracts, litigation)  

  • Prior in-house experience in a multi-national corporation

  • US Government contracts experience

  • Aerospace or defense industry experience

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.  

*This position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
