Volantes Technical Recruitment are seeking a Auditor (operations) for a leading fixed wing client on the Emerald Ilse!!

As the Auditor (Operations) you will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to aviation safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You’ll ensure we meet and exceed all aviation regulations, while maintaining the highest safety standards and continuously shaping our safety culture.

This is an exciting opportunity to support compliance efforts at a new ACMI airline that values safety and regulatory excellence. Based at our Dublin headquarters, the role offers a flexible hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of remote work and in-office collaboration, as well as opportunities to travel for meetings and compliance activities across operations.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for executing auditing and compliance strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with departments like Flight Operations, Ground Operations, and Engineering & Maintenance, ensuring safety standards are upheld across the organisation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Audit: Support the Safety, Security & Compliance Director to develop and implement an internal audit framework to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards. Conduct audits, risk assessments, and safety evaluations, focusing on airside operations.

  • Reporting & Recommendations: Prepare detailed audit reports, document audit findings, and track corrective actions to guarantee regulatory adherence.

  • Safety Culture Promotion: Champion ‘Just Culture’ principles, encouraging transparent incident reporting and creating a learning environment.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Flight Operations, Ground Operations, and Engineering & Maintenance teams to ensure safety and operational compliance.

  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of systems and processes that enhance safety management and compliance across the organisation.

  • Training & Development: Deliver training on compliance procedures, safety regulations, and best practices.

  • Airside Safety Compliance: Ensure airside operations comply with safety and regulatory standards through regular assessments and reviews.

Environment and Sustainability

 

Emergency Response

• Maintain knowledge of the emergency response programme policies, processes, and procedures, as defined by the Emergency Response Procedures. Be prepared to respond in a crisis as an ERP representative, if required by the role.

 

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Engineering, Safety & Compliance, or a related field (preferred).

  • Professional certifications such as IOSA Auditor, ICAO Safety Management Certification, or equivalent.

  • Strong experience in aviation compliance, audit, or risk management, with a solid understanding of aviation regulations (EASA, IAA, CAA).

  • Proven background in safety/ quality management in a commercial aviation environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of safety management systems (SMS), hazard identification, and risk

    mitigation processes.

  • Detailed understanding of ground handling, airside safety, and airport operations.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

  • Methodical, analytical, and detail-oriented approach to audits, reports, and compliance

    assessments.

  • Self-driven with the ability to independently resolve complex compliance issues.

  • Advocate for Just Culture, promoting transparency and incident reporting.

  • Skilled in analysing complex data, interpreting results, and implementing safety and

    compliance improvements.

  • Commitment to high standards of accuracy and compliance.

    Desirable Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised internal auditor qualification in Airport/Airline Operations (e.g. Baines Simmons).

  • Familiarity with Centrik, SMS, or other safety management software.

  • Experience in aviation safety, risk management, or related fields within the airline industry is a

    plus.

  • Strong commercial awareness.

  • Confident, approachable, and enthusiastic.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and hardworking with a strong work ethic.

  • Team player with the ability to work independently.

  • Flexibility to travel and work outside of normal hours when required.
