Aviation Maintenance Planner/Coordinator

As an Aviation Maintenance (AVM) Planner/Coordinator, you will partner with AVM shop managers and union maintenance shops to effectively plan and coordinate crew maintenance work and all related activities. You will ensure the efficient use of labor resources and materials to maintain Port assets and facilities.

  • You will facilitate weekly work management team meetings to discuss upcoming known work and identify potential challenges to completing the work.
  • You will ensure data integrity on work orders in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) in partnership with shop management.
  • You will act as the liaison between shops and customers in support of coordinating, planning, and scheduling, communicating with customers until work is completed. 
  • You will work collaboratively with other AVM Planners/Coordinators to identify scope of work, materials and parts needed, scheduling data, and sequencing of work.
  • You will gather job requirements and walk job sites with shop manager and foremen to ensure everything needed for the job is reviewed and discussed for planning and scheduling.
  • You will triage and process maintenance customer service requests.
  • You will provide training and support to shop foremen on maintenance planning and scheduling software and escalate issues if needed.
  • You will analyze preventive maintenance work activities and templates and partner with shop management in the creation and development of preventive maintenance and job plans.
  • You will assist shop management in decommissioning old assets.
  • You will lead and participate in process improvement efforts and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and standards.

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8\:00 a.m. to 5\:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. 
  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
  • Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
  • Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
