Job Title: Aviation Quality Assurance Inspector
Reports To: Director of Maintenance
Position Summary:
The Aviation Quality Control Inspector is responsible for maintaining aircraft records to include auditing of historical service records, life limited components and all documentation related to continued airworthiness. Is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and overseeing the quality of aircraft. In addition to performing aircraft maintenance, the role involves managing inventory, procuring parts, and ensuring the proper tracking of all parts installed on aircraft and in inventory. The technician will support the Director of Maintenance in ensuring that all aircraft are properly maintained, documented, and meet safety and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Safety Compliance: Responsible for performing work safely, ensuring personal safety, safety of coworkers, and the protection of equipment and facilities. This includes using safety equipment, reporting injuries and unsafe conditions, participating in safety meetings, and assisting with investigations as necessary.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies governing safety, health, environmental protection, and aircraft maintenance.
- Aircraft Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft systems including electrical, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear, engine, and fuel systems, certifying airworthiness of the aircraft.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair discrepancies with systems, ensuring that all necessary maintenance and repairs meet regulatory and airworthiness standards.
- Inventory Management: Oversee parts procurement, inventory control, and tracking of parts shipments. Maintain accurate records of parts and supplies, ensuring timely availability of components for maintenance activities.
- Parts and Tools Recommendations: Assess the tools, parts, spare parts, and materials required for maintenance and inspections, providing recommendations for cost-effective procurement.
- Ground Support & Handling: Perform aircraft towing, parking, servicing, ground handling, and marshalling.
- Documentation Compliance: Ensure proper documentation of aircraft maintenance, including records, logs, and required certifications in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Outside Maintenance Oversight: If applicable, oversee work completed by outside maintenance agencies under the Director’s authority.
- Housekeeping & Aircraft Care: Maintain good housekeeping practices, including the cleaning and care of aircraft interiors and exteriors, hangar, and shop areas.
- Customer Relations: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with passengers, guests, and employees.
- Travel Flexibility: Available for international and domestic travel, including short-notice trips and extended travel. Must be available for 24/7 on-call work and support weekend duties.
- Operational Support: Monitor flight activity schedules and coordinate aircraft movements, as well as contribute to rotational schedules for support of assets at yacht and fixed-base locations.
- Onboard Yacht Duty: Ability to reside onboard a yacht for more than 30 days, participating as a crew member and completing necessary safety training.

Knowledge, Experience, Skill, and/or Ability:
Required:
- In-depth knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, including Airworthiness Directives, Parts 43, 91, 133 and 135.
- Experience with aircraft maintenance management software and related computerized programs.
- Strong understanding of the tools, parts, materials, and equipment needed for aircraft maintenance.
- Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Experience with aircraft servicing, fueling, ground handling, and marshalling.
- Extensive experience in maintaining aircraft, powerplants and troubleshooting discrepancies in electrical, flight control, hydraulic, landing gear, engine, and fuel systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and incorporate modifications to aircraft systems.
- Strong inventory management experience, including parts procurement, tracking, and management.
- Technical English proficiency—ability to read, write, and understand technical documentation.
- Work on a ladder. Lift 50lbs
Desired:
- Previous Quality Assurance/Chief Inspector type experience
- Experience in maintaining and repairing corporate or business turbine-powered rotorcraft, particularly in remote locations with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with parts procurement, inventory control, and shipping, including import/export of helicopter and aircraft parts.
- Knowledge of international and domestic shipping methods, including ocean freight and overland transport.
- Experience with airworthiness conformity inspections for rotor-wing aircraft.
Required Computer Skills:
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with online maintenance manuals and publications.
- Experience using computerized aircraft maintenance programs.
Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience, OR 8 years of relevant vocational/certificate coursework with equivalent work experience.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate with no FAR violations in the past 5 years. Inspection Authorization is preferred.
- Valid USA Passport and ability to travel internationally and domestically on short notice.
- Must pass a background screening by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
- Current and valid driver’s license.
