POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The Quality Assurance Manger reports to the Director of Maintenance. If the Quality Assurance Manager is in disagreement with the Director of Maintenance, they may report the matter to the Director of Safety.
This is an in-office position located in Frisco, TX.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Minimum Requirements)
- Must hold a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant (A&P) ratings
- Within the preceding 24 months, must have had at least six (6) months experience with either inspection, maintenance or return to service of an aircraft or system in accordance with the privileges granted by the license held. S/he may delegate these duties; however, cannot delegate responsibility.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment FAA/DOT drug test and be eligible for enrollment in the company’s FAA/DOT Drug & Alcohol Program as a condition of employment.
- Must be willing and able to travel periodically, approximately 20% of the time, to support quality assurance functions, including audits and inspections at company sites and vendor facilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including FAA regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with the FAA Certificate Holding District Office and other Federal Aviation Administration offices regarding Quality Assurance issues.
- Provide Maintenance Event Release from all maintenance activity.
- Review for accuracy all supporting documentation submitted for return to service following scheduled or unscheduled maintenance. Documentation includes, but is not limited to: aircraft maintenance and discrepancy logs, log entries, Form 8130-3s, 337s, task cards, burn certificates, work orders, ICA manuals, AAIP/CAMP forms, and RII forms as appropriate for the work performed.
- Work directly with internal company and/or external vendor personnel to obtain corrections to aircraft documentation, as it pertains to maintenance, to meet regulatory compliance.
- Ensure the return to service (RTS) process for all maintenance events is initiated and performed in a timely manner.
- Conduct internal evaluations and audits of company operations, including satellite locations.
- Conduct external audits of domestic and foreign repair stations, repair shops, and 14 CFR Part 65 certificated maintenance technicians to ensure they are qualified to perform maintenance, inspection, or repair.
- Maintain, along with the Director of Maintenance, audit forms, procedures, and processes necessary to conduct audits of outside facilities.
- Ensure satellite operation audit requirements are performed timely and accurately.
- Develop, audit, and administer the Required Inspection Item (RII) Program.
- Maintain current files regarding Required Inspection Item Inspector qualifications and training.
- Maintain the Maintenance Provider List and Required Inspection Item Inspector List (10 or more).
- Ensure all maintenance personnel, vendors, and contractors performing maintenance on company aircraft are covered by an approved FAA Anti-Drug/Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
- Administer the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS).
- Develop and maintain Approved Aircraft Inspection Programs (AAIP) and Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Programs (CAMP).
- Develop and maintain the Emergency Equipment Inspection Program and the Avionics Inspection Program.
- Assist with and maintain maintenance training profiles and requirements.
- Ensure technical manuals and reference materials are maintained in a current status.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
