OnsiteThe Avionics Electronics Technician will participate in high-level technical work with little or no instruction. Responsible to perform testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of various moderate to complex electronic avionics equipment in an FAA-regulated environment and in accordance with Collins Aerospace Workmanship and Quality Standards, including products returned from airlines, dealers, airframes and/or end users for service.
Hours for this role are as follows:
2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:00-10:30 PM
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Works under general supervision to service/repair/modify avionics equipment.
Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to servicing, operating, maintaining, & repairing avionics equipment.
Conducts technical analysis of products, modifications and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer requirements and approved documentation.
Soldering fine pitch and SMD components.
Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
Utilizes a good understanding of electronic theory to effect timely repairs.
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems down to component level.
Demonstrates organizational and time management skills.
Not responsible for sales activities.
May involve lifting 25+ pounds and standing for multiple hours consecutively without sitting.
This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
Typically requires AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR in the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 4 years of relevant experience.
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62 Electronics maintenance industry experience or education required.
Must have prior experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:
Electronics Trade School or Military training equivalent for repairing electronics preferred.
Prior experience troubleshooting to component-level.
Prior soldering experience in related environment.
SAP knowledge a plus.
FAA Part 145 knowledge a plus.
Knowledge of RF electronics a plus.
