About the role:

We are seeking a talented senior Avionics Engineer to join our dynamic design office team, working within our aerospace design and production approvals, contributing to integrated solutions within civil and Defence aviation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a growing innovative design team, supporting essential services and our communities with a focus on aeromedical and special missions modifications.

Please note: While Brisbane is preferred, other locations can also be considered.

What you will be involved in:

  • Performing duties as an Authorised Person (AP) or Certification Verification Engineer (CVE) 
  • Oversee design and production approval from concept development through to manufacture and release
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to design engineers
  • Leading the resolution of technical issues in your discipline(s) of expertise
  • Developing, reviewing, and/or approving designs and project artefacts in line with the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned projects
  • Supporting opportunity generation and quote development and capture
  • Collaborating and working with design and production partners and suppliers
  • Demonstrating expertise in aerospace design and CASA requirements

What we would like from you:

  • CASA Instrument of Appointment (or CASR Part 21.J ADO authorisation) for the 21.009 approval of technical data in the Systems and Equipment (Electrical, Instrument, Radio) fields is essential
  • CPEng qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ, Electrical) in Electrical Engineering, or eligibility to obtain
  • Minimum 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degree under an Australian accredited or recognised program in Avionics engineering, Electrical engineering, or a similar relevant discipline
  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain an NV1 AGSVA security clearance
  • Holding or having previously held a CASR 21.437 authorisation is desirable
  • Knowledge of, or having worked within, EASA Part 21 Design Organisation Approvals is an added advantage
  • Experience in Business Development, client management, Project Management, and personnel management can be beneficial
