Capability Unit
Metrea AeroSpace Design (MASD) provides engineering design and certification services for aircraft modifications, including special mission modifications, avionics upgrades and advanced communications capabilities.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Avionics Engineer will provide expedient engineering support in an aircraft modification environment to provide avionics integration designs. Support internal and external customers (e.g. production personnel, suppliers, materials, quality, design), as well as to other engineers. Act as liaison between the shop floor and design / certification engineering personnel.
Coordinate with management, other engineers and shop technicians to develop design requirements and incorporate design changes. Adhere to company standards for configuration control, file management and change control. Exercise initiative, continuous improvement and attention to detail to improve design and drawing quality, completeness and accuracy.
Ability to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced, changing environment. Able to work independently with limited oversight but will ask questions when necessary. Self-motivated to make efficient use of time for the benefit of the company during slow or unsupervised periods.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

This job operates in an office and shop environment.

Travel requirements are less than 10%.
