Avionics PCBA Designer -

Cimarron is seeking an Avionics PCBA Designer to support the Axiom Space Commercial Space Station program in Houston, TX.  The selected candidates for this position will play a key role in the development of hardware and firmware for commercial human spaceflight modules.

Key Duties:

• Design and develop various PCBA layouts based on electrical schematics and design specifications. 
• Perform component placement, routing, and design rule checks.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and design guidelines.
• Collaborate with avionics engineers to optimize circuitry and manufacturability.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation throughout the development process, including specifications, design documents, and reports.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education: 

• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time. 
• Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
• 5 or more years of related experience. 
• Experience with or knowledge of Altium Schematic design, layout design, and PCBA prototyping.
• Experience designing analog, digital, or mixed signal multilayer PCBs.
• Experience with aerospace, automotive, transportation, or other high-reliability electronics. 
• Experience with high voltage design (above 500V) OR high current design (above 10A) OR high frequency design (such as Ethernet or Channel Link)
• Strong understanding of electronic components, signal integrity, and power integrity.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related technical discipline. 

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: 

• 10 or more years of related experience.
• Experience with high-speed signals such as DDR, Ethernet, PCI Express, or USB 3.
• Experience designing DC/DC converters greater than 500 watts. 
• Experience with high-voltage and high-current switches: thyristors, MOSFETs , IGBTs.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
