Avionics Technician I

Essential Responsibilities

• Constructs, maintains and tests electrical systems and components.
• Read and understand schematics, wiring lists and drawings.
• Use measuring and diagnostic tools to test and troubleshoot electronic parts.
• Ensure systems and components meet established specifications.
• Relies on experience and good judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
• Perform a variety of tasks as assigned.
• Work under general supervision.
• Follow instructions and procedures.

• Mechanical Aptitude.
• Technical Aptitude.
• Proficient with Basic Hand Tools for electronics.
• Time Management.
  

Required Education or Experience

• High school diploma, GED, and/or or graduation from a certified technical school; and
• Two (2) or more years of related experience. 

Preferred Education and Experience

• FCC License.
• J Standard, IPC (Soldering Certification).
  

Primary Work Environment

• Climate Controlled; and
• Shop.
  o   Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles;
  o   Not Climate Controlled
  o   Moving mechanical parts and vibrations;
  o   Noise level loud on occasion.

Expected Days and Hours

• Monday through Friday
  
  • 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
    

Open and able to work occasional overtime and weekends as required dependent on workload.

Supervisory or Management Responsibility

• This position does not have direct supervisory or management responsibilities.

Travel requirements

• Rarely (up to 10% of the year)

Required Personal Equipment/Tooling

• Protective steel-toed footwear.
  

Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for job duties and responsibilities will be provided as necessary by Dow Aero, including protective eyewear, respirator, etc.
