Purpose:

To perform all phases of repair, maintenance or modification on aircraft or component parts to include dismantling, repairing, assembling and erection of machinery and mechanical devices and the exchange and replacement of electrical equipment or electrical components. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspection, maintenance, repair and modification on aircraft electrical and avionics systems and in accordance with the applicable Federal Air Regulations (FARs) and the Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM). 
  • Fabricate and install aircraft wiring to engineering design specifications, including terminations of wire harnesses/bundles and connection of components. 
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, diagrams and manuals.
  • Become familiar with and follow the requirements of this RSQM, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circular, manufacturer’s service bulletins and any other required references to perform their assigned work. Never begin any maintenance unless in possession of the proper, current and applicable approved or acceptable data. 
  • Ensure the work area is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents. Ensure that good housekeeping practices are performed at all times. 
  • Perform the proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts and panels appropriately stored (including racks by aircraft). 
  • Perform documentation procedures and sign-offs in accordance with Repair Station Manual and respective task requirements. 
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are correctly used and handled for both safety and to reduce breakages, wear and tear. Ensure tooling, GSE and ground equipment is returned to its proper storage area following use. 
  • Strive for continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority. 
  • Maintain close and frequent communication with the Lead Technician, notifying him/her of progress and any road-blocks or threats to task accomplishment that could impact re-delivery. 
  • Deal with customers in a cordial, respectful and professional manner. 
  • Ensure the highest quality service, safety standards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customer satisfaction in the re-delivery of airworthy, reliable and clean aircraft, in a timely manner. 
  • Take part in any required training as determined by the company. 
  • Competent in the following:

  16. Install Wire Harnesses.
  17. Perform System Modifications.
  18. Avionics Systems.
  19. Cables and Cabling.
  20. Computers & Digital Concepts.
  21. System Interfacing.
  22. Antennas & Transmission Lines.
  23. Components.
  24. Network Infrastructure.
  25. Safety.
  26. Satellite Communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications or Experience:

  • More than 10 years’ aircraft avionics maintenance experience on commercial narrow/wide body transport category aircraft (Boeing, Airbus) fleet types. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Proficient in oral and written English. 
  • Must report for assignment with personal set of standard trade-specific tools. 

Preferred Qualifications or Experience:

  • Aircraft avionics maintenance experience on current fleet types being maintained or modified by the Repair Station. 
  • Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Experience in V/VIP custom aircraft interior completions. 
  • Completion of General Familiarization Training Courses on current fleet types being maintained or modified by the Repair Station. 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No Supervisory responsibilities.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes:
  • Able to perform intermediate/ major/heavy aircraft maintenance tasks with no supervision. 
  • Understand specific design and operation of installed aircraft avionic systems to enable effective troubleshooting, repair and modification of wiring and components. 
  • Able to read, interpret and apply FAA approved or accepted data (i.e. IPC, M/M, OHM, SRM) proficiently. 
  • Proven ability to work alone and in a team environment. 
  • Effective decision-making skills. 
  • Dependability: personally responsible, completes work in a timely manner, and performs tasks accurately. 
  • Motivation: must maintain a positive attitude and strong work energy. 
  • Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared.
