POSITION DESCRIPTION: Avionics Technician
Summary: Performs maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft avionics components.

EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED BY JOB: Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation or Technician/Vocational Certificate in Control Technology, Electrical Systems, or other related field (minimum of 3 years of experience working with Controls or Electrical Systems will be considered in lieu of degree)
KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Basic Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Bench or Avionics Technician with any of the following instrumentation: Resistance Temperature Devices (RTDs), Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Effective use of the English language, both oral and written, to communicate information to others. Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret instructions and documents, correspondence, and memos.
REASONING AND PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, including some requiring fine manipulation (e.g. hair pins and small springs), handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; operate a computer and reach with hands and arms; sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific and/or correctable vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
