Avionics Test Engineer -

Cimarron is seeking an Avionics Test Engineer to support the Axiom Space Commercial Space Station program in Houston, TX.  The selected candidates for this position will play a key role in the development of hardware and firmware for commercial human spaceflight modules.

Key Duties:

• Develop test plans and conduct tests for areas such as RF, EMI, radiation, etc. with a focus in ionizing radiation testing on space electronics.
• Travel to perform or support radiation effects testing on space electronics.
• Work closely with avionics design and development teams to provide feedback based on test results, contributing to the improvement of avionics systems design, reliability, and performance.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues encountered during testing.
• Ensure avionics testing activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
• 5 or more years of related experience.
• Experience with avionics test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and current probes.
• In-depth experience creating test plans for aerospace programs.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or another related technical discipline.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Experience with ionizing radiation effects testing (Single Event Effects and Total Ionizing Dose).
• Experience with or knowledge of Altium Schematic design, layout design, and PCBA prototyping.
• Experience with Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) parts plans/processes.
• Experience with PCBA troubleshooting and testing.
• Proficient at communicating test results in an understandable manner to those not familiar with that technical area.
