Responsibility Summary:

  • Performs all functions of the customer's in-house computer system(s), including Automated Air Manifest System (AMS) and Automated Air Export System (AES), as required.
  • Prepare and handle all phases of import and export documentation, including, but not limited to: calculating freight, storage, and other related charges; preparing documents for next sector transfer, delivery, and other related cargo handling phases, such as preparing cargo manifests.
  • Accept and check air waybills against customs and other regulatory agency requirements such as cargo screening.
  • Ensure compliance with airline customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and all other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Data capture and input required for airline computer systems or other cargo software applications, such as ‘Cargo Spot’. Assign shipments in relevant computer systems in accordance with airline booking and load planning.
  • Ensure compliance with special cargo including, but not limited to AVI, HUM, VAL, and other airline-specific products. Arrange Police escorts when relevant/required.
  • Ensure special cargo is dispatched to relevant flights in time to meet scheduled departure. Breakdown Airwaybills (AWBs) in accordance with airline requirements.
  • Prepare computer manifests and other records in accordance with airline 
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Qualification:

  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English
  • Must have schedule flexibility for the weekend, holiday, and night shifts
  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
  • The ability to work and communicate with all levels of Operations and management.
  • Must pass all pre-employment requirements and those to obtain an Aiport ID with a seal

The physical demands described here are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the incumbent to be able to speak and be understood, hear, and comprehend the English language, stand for long periods of time, be able to lift approximately 70 pounds, be able to relocate in the event of an emergency, and have a neat and professional appearance.
