Job Summary

The Cargo Exam Supervisor reports directly to the CES Manager and oversees Cargo Exam Specialist activities and ensures operational compliance with CBP requirements and regulations. This role will focus on leadership in process improvement, supervision and coordination of shipment staging for Customs examination. The Cargo Exam Supervisor will ensure accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of CES functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Cargo Exam Specialist including the assignment of tasks related to the examination of cargo and operation of the facility.
• Enforce company policies and Standard Operating Procedures, and related Customs regulations including AMS/ACE usage, as well as applicable Dangerous Goods requirements (storage).
• Liaise with CBP and customer representatives to assist, support and resolve issues.
• Perform hands on training to improve efficiency/effectiveness for all import/export cargo functions
• Manage performance of CES operation and the WFS team, providing reporting on operations as requested by facility and station management.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, propose and implement solutions.
• Management reserves the right to assign/unassign any additional responsibilities, tasks based upon customer, Customs or operational needs.

Minimum Requirements

• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain Port Authority or Airport Authority (if applicable) identification and permit to use vehicles ramp side.

• Understanding of AMS/ACE customs systems.
• Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM, intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and present information
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a related role or industry

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in AMS/ACE customs systems and communication is preferred.
• Prior use of cargo handling systems (i.e. CargoSpot, ePic) (preferred but not required.)

• Knowledge and understanding of Worldwide Flight Services Rules and Regulations.
• Basic knowledge of Customs regulations.  
• Excellent English language written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays, rotating shifts and schedules.
• Ability to work outside with potential to be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
