Responsibilities:

• Observe, report, and escalate activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
• Preserves orders and may act to enforce regulations, policies, and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
• Conduct exterior and interior patrols to detect hazards, suspicious activity, and irregularities; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Protect evidence or scene of an incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, inclement weather, and other incidents.
• Prepare logs and reports as required
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Remain alert and aware of surroundings.
• Prevent unauthorized people and prohibited property from entering the facility.
• Operate vehicle gates, access control points, and overhead doors.
• Assist with building evacuations and/or sheltering operations.

Additional Responsibilities

 Warehouse Security Officer:

• Monitor entrance to warehouse and restrict access to the warehouse to authorized individuals and individuals with the proper escort.
• Patrol interior the warehouse as required by Atlas Security Policy for unauthorized individuals, signs of tampering with cargo, and secure warehouse doors.
• Respond to any unusual incident that may occur and make proper notifications. In the event of an emergency contact 911 and Station Manager. For security related issues contact Station Manager and Security Department.

Aircraft Security Officer:

• Provide security for Atlas aircraft while on the ground in ORD
• Prevent unauthorized access to Atlas aircraft
• Prior to uplift examine cargo for signs of tampering
• Report any signs of tampering to the AAWW Ground Security Coordinator (GSC)
• Staff will be positioned at the L1 door or at the foot of the stairs leading to the L1 door at all times when the aircraft is on the ground
• Verify identification of all individuals boarding the aircraft through the L1 door
• Follow location specific procedures as mutually agreed in writing

Qualifications

• Must have a valid PERC Card
• Must have a valid Security Guard license
• Must be able to pass a 10-year background check
• Must have reliable transportation
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
• May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 18 years old or older
