The Asset Management team is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of all physical assets across the entire airport site – airside, landside, terminal and related areas.
Reporting into the Airport Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for first response duties, overseeing, coordinating and prioritising all maintenance activities including electrical and mechanical across the airport during an assigned shift. The role involves supervising maintenance contractors, responding to urgent repairs to minimise disruptions to operations, and ensuring compliance and assurance with safety and airport regulations. Supervision and oversight of the service providers, systems and assets include: Aeronautical Ground Lighting, Baggage Handling System, Vertical Transport, Fire Life Safety, low voltage electrical, mechanical (HVAC), hydraulics, together with all other general maintenance such as cleaning, waste and landscaping.
The role will also support the Utilities Team as required, ensuring a seamless delivery of support across WSI’s electrical and hydraulics reticulation system.
This position will initially be performed within regular business hours to support the development of processes and procedures. It will then transition to shift work to support WSI’s operational trials and testing of process and procedures, prior to the airport commencing live operations when the role will require permanent shift work.
Key responsibilities:
Provide first response activities across the airport including triage, isolations, coordination and management of emergency situations.
Supervise the day-to-day maintenance activities and minor works across the airport during their assigned shift as performed by the maintenance service providers to ensure the efficient, effective and safe delivery and operation of all systems and assets.
Utilise knowledge and experience to problem solve minor issues through to resolution, avoiding operational disruptions.
Act as the conduit for communication between airport stakeholders and service providers.
Troubleshoot by inspecting, identifying faults, diagnosing issues, and reporting for follow up by relevant service providers.
Liaise and work with service providers and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient operation of the airport.
Ensure safety requirements and documentation are adhered to by contractors including safety inspections, toolbox talks, risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures, Airport Works Plans, and other relevant documents as required by WSI.
Oversee and coordinate isolations and shutdown requests and process, as well as all other sub-permit requests.
Monitor the Building Management System (BMS), Fire Life Safety and AGL Content Management System (CMS) for running and alarm conditions and respond to related issues on-site.
Liaise with and coordinate works between High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) service providers.
Support the Airport Maintenance Manager where required on reporting, attending meetings and other related duties.
Asset Management System (AMS) – monitor work orders from lodgement to close out on a day-to-day basis.
About You
Extensive experience (10+ years) electrical / mechanical experience in the Building Maintenance / Facilities Management industry.
Ideally you’ll have experience from the airport industry and / or complex industrial environments.
Qualified mechanical / electrician with a current Electrical License.
Working knowledge and understanding in:
HVAC, mechanical, vertical transport in building settings
Fire Life Safety systems
General Building Maintenance
Passenger Boarding Bridges
Aeronautical Ground Lighting
Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Manual of Standards (MOS) 139
Fault finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems
Civil maintenance and TfNSW specifications
Current Driver’s licence and Construction White Card
Other preferred licenses:
Elevated Working Platform licence (> 11m),
Working at Heights
Confined Space
Forklift
Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and/or other required security clearances.
Well organised, experienced in Asset Management Systems (Hexagon preferred), reporting, MS Office, and Outlook.
Strong communication abilities to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
