Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First-Line Quality Manager – RQSO FAA Liaison (Level K) to support the Regulatory and Quality System Oversight (RQSO) in Renton, Washington.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering trust between Boeing and the FAA, as well as other Civil Aviation Authorities. In this position, you will oversee the Renton FAA Liaison team, which serves as the authorized representatives between Boeing and the FAA, specifically in support of PC700 management and oversight. Your responsibilities will include facilitating FAA audits and managing Boeing's responses to compliance and enforcement actions from the FAA. A key aspect of building trust and transparency with regulators involves Boeing's capacity for self-detection and self-correction, achieved through the monitoring of data streams to identify opportunities for Voluntary Disclosure Reporting.

Position Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary liaison and authorized delegate between Boeing and Regulators for the Production Certificate (PC) 700.
  • Develops and executers business plans, policies and procedures to develop organizational and technical strategies for Boeing's QMS and the FAA Liaison Organization.
  • Coordination with the FAA on formal correspondence including Letters of Investigation (LOI), Voluntary Disclosures (VDR), Formal Compliance Action (FCA), Request for Information (RFI) and any enforcement actions.
  • Leads a team that has responsibility to plan, communicate and facilitate all FAA audit activity, including documenting issues, concerns and potential findings.
  • Interpretation of Boeing Policies, Procedures and clarification of regulatory agency materials.
  • Communications between regulatory agencies and Boeing regarding BCA Program issues that cross multiple segments to production operations and possible safety concerns.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or experience in a regulated industry
  • 3+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems and/or Boeing Production System
  • 3+ years of experience using systematic problem solving

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • 3+ years' experience in developing and maintaining relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years' experience in a leadership capacity leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change
  • Ability to navigate and interpret production drawings, engineering specifications, and work instructions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working with Federal Aviation Administration
  • Proficiency with Boeing Production Systems (CMES, REDARS, PSDS, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree

Summary pay range: $116,450 – $157,550
