Job Summary

The Instructor Ramp Services delivers comprehensive safety, security, and procedural training for airport ramp service agents, overseeing initial and recurrent training and practical on-the-job requirements. Duties involve closely monitoring training records, providing clear instruction on new procedures, updating manuals and SOPs, and maintaining direct communication with relevant authorities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting training efforts and reporting to corporate training while being based at their station.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safety, security and procedural training for airport ramp service agents concerning ground handling ramp services (including both initial and recurrent and, on-the-job, practical training requirements).
  • Monitors training records. Instructs personnel on new procedures, WFS and government safety and security policies, regulations, and directives, and conducts audits.
  • Comply with the WFS security program.
  • Update local training manuals and SOPs as required. 
  • Computer data entry; preparation or oversight of flight documents
  • Liaise with Transportation Safety Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, local airport authority, and U.S. Customs & Border Patrol, U.S. Customs; monitor the compliance of employee training records with applicable air carrier and Department of Transportation regulations. 
  • Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance to managers or via the WFS reporting program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable in all Federal Air Regulations about airline and cargo ramp operations and all Worldwide Flight Services procedures.
  • 2 years of ramp operational experience is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with aircraft ground movement, ground service equipment and deicing operations are preferred.
  • Current working knowledge of computer systems.
  • Must possess leadership qualities.
  • Requires strong oral and written communications skills, and excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Some travel is required.

  • Ability to speak clearly and be understood.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
  • Work with little or no supervision.
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions
  • Work in a high noise level environment.
  • Work in restricted spaces as necessary to demonstrate job functions.
  • Push, pull, bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, crawl, or grip as necessary to demonstrate job functions and operate required equipment.
