Toll Aviation, Australia's largest integrated aeromedical provider, is embarking on an exciting growth journey, and we want YOU to be a pivotal part of it. As we expand our fleet of helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, uncrewed aerial systems, and aviation training services for both domestic and international clients, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Aviation Safety & Quality to lead and shape the safety culture of our operations.
In this leadership role, you will oversee the Safety Management System (SMS) across our diverse fleet of mission-critical services, including state and federal government agencies, such as Defence. With existing long-term government contracts through 2040, you will manage safety and quality across all operations, ensuring the highest levels of safety standards are met across our growing services.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS), and Human Factors (HF) program across the organization.
Drive a safety culture focused on continuous improvement and ensure compliance with both state and federal safety standards, including aviation-specific regulations.
Oversee safety audits, incident investigations, and the management of safety risks.
Coordinate and refine programs for Fatigue Risk Management, Emergency Response, and other critical safety initiatives.
Lead the safety and quality teams, developing their capabilities and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Represent the organization in safety-related matters with clients and stakeholders, particularly in government and Defence sectors.
Monitor, analyse, and report on safety performance to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
Ensure safety and quality reporting is aligned with business goals and is presented regularly to management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of aviation safety and quality management systems and processes.
Expertise in CASA regulations and ISO 4801, 9001 and 14001 Management System frameworks.
Extensive experience leading, mentoring and developing a Team of quality and safety professionals
Formal lead Auditor and Safety Investigation qualifications and experience.
Tertiary qualifications in safety, human factors, aviation management or a related field.
Highly desirable: Experience in Helicopter or Fixed-Wing EMS and operational aviation roles.
