 Description
•    The Remote Sensing Supervisor (RSS) for the Satellites Team supervises a team of imagery analysts and serves as the senior imagery analyst and technical leader, driving the development of the team’s remote sensing and geospatial analysis capabilities. The RSS leads efforts to process and analyse satellite and sensor data and plays a pivotal role in advancing the automation of feature extraction algorithms from remote sensing inputs.
•    As a mentor and technical expert, the RSS guides analysts in producing high-quality information products while ensuring data integrity through rigorous quality control. They take ownership of the team’s work, including managing projects and workflows, distributing and prioritizing tasks, developing new information products to meet customer requirements, improving data management strategies, and coordinating with the broader RS team and other departments.
•    The role is primarily office based

Requirements
Education and Experience:
•    A university degree in Remote Sensing, GIS, Computer Science, or related fields; OR equivalent, relevant experience (at least 2 years) in imagery analysis, including military or intelligence contexts.
•    Proven experience analysing satellite and sensor data for display on online and offline maps.
•    Hands-on experience processing data from various remote sensors, including optical, thermal, multispectral, SAR and LiDAR
Leadership and Mentorship:
•    Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, fostering skill growth and ensuring high-quality outputs.
•    Strong capability in managing workflows, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating with other teams to achieve shared goals.
Technical Skills:
•    Advanced proficiency with the ESRI suite of products, particularly ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, and ArcGIS Enterprise, OR equivalent software such as QGIS, ENVI, or Erdas Imagine.
•    Knowledge of Python (arcpy, rasterio, geopandas, opencv) or other programming languages such as R is highly desirable.
•    Experience in developing algorithms for feature extraction and image classification to support remote sensing workflows.
•    Expertise in managing and processing large datasets while ensuring data quality and accuracy.

Language Proficiency:
•    Fluent spoken and written Ukrainian.
•    Proficiency in English for effective communication, documentation, and collaboration in an international setting

Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
•    Supervises the work of imagery analysts, ensuring tasks are effectively distributed, prioritized, and completed on time.
•    Mentors team members in remote sensing techniques, geospatial analysis, and algorithm development, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
•    Manages workflows, monitors performance, and ensures the delivery of high-quality outputs aligned with organizational objectives.
•    Leads research initiatives to improve remote sensing methodologies, fostering innovation and capability-building within the team.
Remote Sensing and Imagery Analysis:
•    Oversees the processing of satellite and sensor data (optical, thermal, multispectral, SAR and LiDAR) using advanced remote sensing and computer vision techniques.
•    Guides the development of algorithms and techniques for image classification and automated feature extraction from diverse sensor inputs.
•    Ensures analysts use IMINT or ISR methods to identify points of interest in electro-optical imagery and annotate them in HALO’s information management system.
•    Conducts quality control checks of processed data to maintain accuracy and confidence.
Collaboration:
•    Works closely with other Remote Sensing (RS) units to share insights, methodologies, and advancements in geospatial data analysis.
•    Collaborates with other operations departments to develop remote sensing capture and processing capabilities, ensuring seamless integration into broader workflows.
•    Develops and refines information products tailored to meet internal and external customer requirements.
Innovation and Technical Oversight: 
•    Takes ownership of the development and implementation of new information products, integrating advanced remote sensing techniques with customer needs.
•    Continuously improves data management strategies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility across workflows.
•    Researches and applies emerging technologies and methodologies to expand the team's analytical capabilities and drive automation in feature extraction processes.

Working conditions
•    Time split between office-based and field work to support UAV operations and ensure alignment between data collection and analysis.
•    Use of UAV systems, personal computer and office equipment is required.
•    Work schedule – 5/2
•    Gross salary – 80 845 UAH
