Essential Functions
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to teach courses in our Bachelor of Science in Aviation major and courses related to our concentrations in professional flight, air transport administration, and uncrewed aircraft systems. A typical workload will be to teach 3 courses per semester and have either a service or research expectation. Potential courses may include but are not limited to Introduction to Aviation and Aerospace, Introduction to Airport Administration, Airline Operations, Private, Instrument, or Commercial Ground Theory, Meteorology, Aircraft Systems, Aerodynamics, and our Senior Capstone Course. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach in higher education and possess strong written and oral communication skills. A successful candidate should also hold or be able to get a CFI , CFII , BGI , IGI , or AGI certificate from the FAA to be able to teach Ground Theory courses. Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Aviation, Transportation, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial operational experience as Pilot-in-Command ( PIC ). Pilot ratings and certificates must include Commercial Pilot Single & Multi-engine Land, Instrument Airplane. Instructor ratings and certificates must include Single & Multi-engine Land, Instrument Airplane ( CFI , MEI , CFII ). Knowledge of and experience with training aircraft and commercial aircraft systems.
