Job Description:   This position will serve as the Intelligence and Targeting Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Instructor for the Joint Advanced Fires Qualification Course (JAFQ) under the 705th Training Squadron, 505th Test and Training Group, at Hurlburt Field, FL.

The JAFQC will provide advanced fires instruction/training across all military domains and Services in support of the Joint Warfighting Concept. The course is designed to prepare select graduates (O-3 / E-7 and above) of USAF Weapons School and other similar Army, Navy, and Marine Corps training programs with the use of weapon systems or other actions in a Joint Operations Area at the operational level of warfare using cross boundary operational/and tactical fires to influence/disrupt enemy operational forces, critical functions, and key facilities to support operations or campaigns. 

Instruction will prepare students to Command and Control operational fires beyond the tactical level of warfare; this includes air interdiction, strategic attack, suppression of enemy air defenses, and offensive counter-air missions to achieve a desired effect on a given target set or system of targets. Graduates will garner an understanding of how the joint force organizes and commands and controls fires, through presented academics and practical exercises. Courseware classification will range from Unclassified through TS/SCI and include discussion of IJSTO and SAP capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply Intelligence and Targeting proficiencies to assist in designing and developing the JAFQC
  • Serve as a senior academic instructor for the JAFQC
  • Serve as a SME in the JAFQC and other 705 TRS courses
  • Develop joint doctrine
  • Provide advisory services at worldwide exercises


Requirements

Requirements:

  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited university or college
  • Fifteen 15 years of military experience as a Joint (or Service level) Target Systems Analyst or officer
  • Deep knowledge of People Republic of China (PRC) advanced capabilities, Long Range Kill Chain (LRKC), and Over the Horizon Targeting (OTH-T) capabilities across all domains
  • Practical experience working within the Joint Targeting Cycle within a Combatant Command or as part of a subordinate Joint Task Force or Component Command
  • Practical expertise working with Modernized Integrated Data Base (MIDB), Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT), and researching, analyzing, and writing Target System Analysis (TSA) products
  • Experience with the planning of Special Access Programs (SAPs) for execution
  • Proficient with multimedia operations required for instructional briefings, presentations, and exercise activities. This includes the knowledge, skill, and ability to develop and present graphics data and information for various audiences
  • Ability to provide and brief products suitable to train senior level staff and leaders for practical exercises, develop exercise support materials for multi-domain targeting, and instruct students on joint targeting processes
  • Ability to directly interface with senior executives (GS-15 – SES) and General Officers (active duty and retired) and have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to operate independently
  • Ability to travel to various locations within and outside the continental United States in performance of the tasks

 

Desired:

  • Former designation as a Joint Qualified Officer (JQO)
  • USINDOPACOM exercise experience
  • Experience working with Space, Cyber, and Non-Kinetic targeting
  • Experience with Instructional Systems Design-based course development and Joint accreditation
  • Instructor certification and experience, specifically as a graduate of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course (or other Service equivalent)
  • Experience training advanced audiences (e.g., USAFWS, NAWDC, MAWTS, C2WAC graduates)
