Quality Engineers provide NPI quality support during initial planning, create required inspection work instructions in support of QMS, and provide statistical information for quality improvements. The individual chosen for this opportunity must be self-motivated, very detailed, a team player, and capable of working on several projects simultaneously. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of quality planning documentation to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and collaborate with the Process Engineering team on NPI projects.
  • Support efforts to identify quality improvements and contribute to refining manufacturing processes.
  • Help prepare and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Investigate customer feedback and assist in problem-solving using root cause analysis and corrective action methods.
  • Assist in internal audits and learn about external auditing processes.
  • Gain exposure to third-party accreditations such as NADCAP, ISO, and AS certifications.
  • Support quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO9001/AS9100 and learn about their application in a real-world setting.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize data to support the preparation of reports with recommendations.
  • Contribute to the team by completing tasks and supporting overall project goals.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field, or relevant experience in a related field.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and CMM is a plus.
  • Interest in tooling and fixturing concepts is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with a team and manage multiple tasks.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Use of precise measuring tools
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience or familiarity with companies like Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, or GE Aerospace is a plus, but not required.

Physical Demands
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on a daily basis
  • Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etc.
  • Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Able to successfully pass vision screens
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
Eligibility Requirements:  
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Ferco Aerospace will require proof of status prior to employment. 
Compensation:
  • Salary starts at 60k dependent on matching responsibilities and qualifications.
  • We offer competitive benefits first of the month after hire, 401K matching that is 100% vested immediately, paid time-off, and paid holidays.
  • This is an in-office position Monday-Thursday with occasional Friday mornings.
  • 10 hours days.
