The position of Lead Cabin Programmes Engineer is pivotal within our Engineering department. This role is dedicated to ensuring safety, performance, and compliance throughout our operations, focusing particularly on our fleet's cabin retrofit programmes.  

As a Lead Cabin Programmes Engineer, you will lead activities from product and supplier selection through to final implementation on the aircraft. You will also develop product specifications, retrofit workscopes, labor-hour costings, and scheduling aircraft inputs.  

This role is crucial for maintaining our commitment to industry-leading performance and safety, while also driving our ambition to be recognized as one of the world's most progressive and customer-centric engineering teams. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of new industry leading cabin product designs and reconfigurations for both production and/or retrofit aircraft
  • Lead and oversee new cabin programmes to ensure all products are certified, produced and delivered on time, on budget and to specification
  • Lead the source selection analysis process for new cabin products ensuring full compliance to all technical and regulatory requirements
  • Lead all the major milestone meetings and provide on-site support for aircraft modification inputs.
  • Lead all LOPA studies and cabin reconfiguration proposals
  • Lead all in-house cabin designs & modifications through Cathay Pacific HKAR-21 Design Organisation to support aircraft induction and retirement activities
  • Lead all cabin tasks for all aircraft inductions and retirements
  • Build strong working relationships with cabin suppliers and Maintenance Repair Organisations (MROs)
  • Initiate and drive cabin reliability improvements for future cabin products through structured cross-functional engagement with key stakeholders and lessons learned
  • Perform evaluation, costing and project planning of new livery designs or one-off paint schemes

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and/or engineering
  • Degree in Engineering or Aerospace discipline
  • Proven cabin engineering knowledge and project management experience
  • Experience in supplier management with OEMs and MROs
  • Preferred membership in The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE)
  • Experience in LEAN projects and design organizations is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Drive for excellence and adaptability to change
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes across departments
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
