About the role

A Line Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft while they are in operation, typically focusing on maintaining and servicing aircraft between flights or during short turnarounds. 

This role is crucial in keeping planes safe and operational, minimizing delays, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fantastic team of driven and skilled engineers who thrive on providing exceptional service and support.

This employment will be largely line maintenance and light checks, working with some of the most famous business aircraft in the world.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Routine Inspections: Perform pre-flight, post-flight, and turnaround inspections to detect and rectify any issues.

  • Aircraft Servicing: Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks such as refueling, oil checks, tire changes, brake inspections, and troubleshooting.

  • Defect Rectification: Identify and repair faults or malfunctions that are discovered during inspections or reported by the flight crew.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in compliance with aviation regulations.

  • Communication: Liaise with pilots, flight crew, and maintenance control to ensure a clear understanding of any technical issues or repairs needed.

  • Emergency Repairs: Respond to unexpected technical issues that arise during aircraft operations, ensuring rapid repairs to minimize flight delays.

  • Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work adheres to aviation standards, regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA), and the manufacturer's specifications.

  • Use of Specialized Equipment: Utilize diagnostic tools, aircraft manuals, and maintenance software to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.

Stations based at different airports across the European Union


Qualifications:

Essential: License B1 (AMEL), issued by aviation regulatory bodies: EASA (for Europe) is a MUST!

Nice to have: the UKCAA for the United Kingdom and the FAA for the U.S. 

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of aircraft systems (e.g., avionics, hydraulics, engines).


Person specification:

- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify even minor issues that could impact aircraft safety.

- Problem Solving: Quick and efficient troubleshooting to resolve issues under time pressure.

- Physical Fitness: The job can be physically demanding, requiring engineers to work outdoors, in tight spaces, and on their feet for long periods.

- Adaptability: Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and during inclement weather.

This role is crucial for keeping aircraft safe, and operational, and minimizing flight delays or cancellations due to technical issues.
