Job Title: Logistics and Supply Chain Lead – Defence Protection Systems
Location: London ON Canada
Hours: 40 hrs per week (Mon to Fri) based on-site
Vacancy Type: Full-time, 3 Year Fixed Term Contract 
Salary: $64,000 - $84,000 CDN (subject to experience)

​You will be responsible for sourcing a wide range of materials used in the Composite Moulding industry and managing low-volume, time-sensitive engineered products. You will work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials to meet strict production deadlines.

JOB DUTIES

​

1. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, establish and manage a reliable network of suppliers capable of meeting business needs, production schedules, and project deadlines.
2. Provide day-to-day procurement support to the team and wider business, ensuring smooth operations and effective resolution of any procurement-related issues.
3. Ensure the timely supply of materials in line with production requirements and business deliverables, continually driving improvements in processes, efficiency, and supplier performance.
4. Negotiate and agree on sourcing for materials, ensuring that suppliers are listed on the company’s approved supplier list, and that pricing and terms of trade are agreed upon, communicated, and adhered to.
5. Negotiate, place, and manage contracts for services, ensuring service providers operate in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and deliver consistent performance.
6. Drive the effective use of the business management system (QAD) to streamline and support procurement activities, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
7. Lead initiatives to drive supply chain improvements, focusing on cost reduction, enhanced delivery performance, and quality improvements with key suppliers.
8. Place purchase orders and manage the expediting process to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials in line with production and project needs.
9. Oversee the management and tracking of open purchase orders, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for effective order tracking and reporting.
10. Perform general procurement duties, including processing requisitions, converting them into detailed purchase orders, and ensuring timely and accurate issuance.
11. ​Manage inventory to ensure accurate and up to date records of goods in and out; support annual stock-take for the Canadian facility.
12. Assist with warehouse management in collaboration with the Production Lead, including receiving, storing, and picking products.
13. Monitor and update shipping registers and assist with packaging and preparing goods for delivery.

CRITICAL OUTPUTS AND ACHIEVEMENT REQUIRED

• Reporting against set KPI criteria including cost reduction and supplier delivery performance
• Effectively operate individually and as part of a team, managing suppliers to ensure support of business priorities.

EXPERIENCE

​

Essential

​

• Degree or equivalent (i.e. diploma or experience) in supply change management
• Minimum 3-5 years experience working within a manufacturing/production or similar environment as a procurement officer with responsibilities for Indirect and Production requirements.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory control techniques, and warehouse management best practices.
• Able to obtain government security clearance, including for controlled goods (must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident).

• Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication, collaborative and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
