Maintenance and Avionics Estimator

The Maintenance and Avionics Estimator is responsible for development and delivery of maintenance and avionics proposals and being a point of contact for our Maintenance and Avionics Salespeople and Customer Liaison.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Create and review estimates for maintenance and avionics work. Review requests for quotes (RFQ) and work order change requests (WOCR) and determine labor, materials and outside services required to accomplish tasks. Consult with co-workers, customers and vendors as necessary to evaluate job requirements.
  2. Coordinate with sales staff and Customer Liaison on scheduling, additional work requests and technical issues to ensure customer needs are met and RFQ’s and WOCR’s are created and delivered per Pentastar policies and customer expectations.
  3. Gain internal approval on quotations and WOCR’s and coordinate delivery with salespeople. Ensure all required forms are delivered to customers and returned with proper signatures as required including the processing and tracking of deposit requests.
  4. Create work order in the job cost system and request major parts and equipment specific to the job. Ensure all aspects of the requested work are accounted for in the work order including any special requests or special equipment needs due to existing aircraft design and layout. 
  5. Create deposit requests and progress billings as needed. Coordinate with the Accounting Department on deposits and progress billings.
  6. Develop forecasts and cost projections for the Account Managers as needed.
  7. Take a leadership role in facilitating changes in the Maintenance department. This position is responsible for leading projects with defined targets and specific timelines. Projects will address financial results, internal controls and development of processes and procedures. 

Special Notes

The incumbent of this position is expected to perform all other duties as assigned.

The incumbent is provided with latitude for exercising individual initiative and judgment, and to make minor to moderate decisions where necessary with the best interests of the company and customer satisfaction in mind.
