We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Manager at our Dayton, OH location. This position will report to The General Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day safe and quality orientated operations of the 145-repair station pertaining to the aircraft (Jet, Turboprop & Piston) serviced by the Premier Aviation Services MRO in Dayton, Ohio. This includes P&L, work scope determination and quoting, staffing, coordination between all full-service departments of maintenance, avionics, interior, paint and FBO/Line. 
  • Responsible for the profitability and on-time delivery of aircraft projects in the maintenance department. 
  • The position requires a dynamic and energetic individual with a high level of motivation and customer service orientation.   
  • A high level of understanding of the regulations pertaining to MRO operations such as FAA 145 repair station, FAA 135 aircraft operations, FAA directives and rules, OSHA Laws & their application, EPA Laws & their application.  
  • The position calls for a flexible individual that is dedicated and can be counted on to respond to potential or established customers as needed.  
  • The position requires strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Management of direct reports, including approving timecards and PTO, and performance management.
  • Must have experience leading and training junior mechanics on multiple aircraft projects developing a maintenance and management team to support aircraft AOG drop-in, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and inspection projects, independent aircraft troubleshooting and all major repairs per Premier's FAA 145 repair station operational specifications.  
  • Interaction with technical service representatives, vendors, government entities, internal & external customers, other department managers, technicians and mechanics is required on a daily basis.      
  • Safely perform aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions and inspections using the Microsoft Project software following applicable technical data in the performance of all aircraft and component maintenance under minimal supervision per the aircraft manufacturer’s specific maintenance program or AAIP. 
  • Coordinate with management, assigned supervision, and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, signoffs and quality specifications using the Corridor maintenance program.
  • Ensure that all inspections are properly performed, and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms used by the 145 Repair Station are properly executed prior to releasing the product for return to service.
  • Follow standard operating procedures assigned from management and as directed by the aircraft manufacturers maintenance manual specifications when using aircraft maintenance tools and equipment such as electrical, hydraulic power and aircraft pressurization carts, aircraft jacks, calibrated tools, etc. 
  • Properly care for and maintain all required maintenance and facility equipment and tools.
  • Read and understand the Repair Station/Quality Control Manual PPJR496E and any referenced forms, manuals, or supplements referenced within listed document.
  • Keep current with the latest revisions of all technical data within one’s area of expertise on all articles repaired by the repair station. This data will include manufacturers’ overhaul manuals, service bulletins, part specifications, related FAA approved data and other required technical data used by the repair station
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and the Parts Department ensuring the proper handling and preservation of all units/parts while in the work process, installation, and storage. 
  • Ensure the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in CFR PPJR496E.
  • Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component or aircraft released by the Repair Station.  
  • Periodically review, record, and ensure mechanics document On-the-job Training on form PAT-DAY-0003 as required. 
  • Provide documentation to the quality assurance department of all OJT & formal training to be incorporated into repair station personnel files.
  • Maintaining currency requirements for all special authorizations as required by repair station duties.
  • Comply with all safety and housekeeping policies. 
  • Ensure mechanics use personal protective equipment and ensure the aircraft exterior and interior is properly protected (PTP). 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Aviation Management required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in both Jet & Turboprop Airframe & Powerplant.
  • Must have strong experience in 145 repair station standards and operations.
  • A&P license required.
  • IA Certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
  • Maintenance and engine experience in King Air, Beechjet, Citation 500/550/560/650 series, and Hawker 700/800/850 series preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently to meet FAA Regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to use standard aircraft mechanics tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft maintenance process.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, perform close tolerance work, work in small spaces, lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to work at heights to include from a 20’ ladder or aerial lift.  
  • Knowledge of Corridor Maintenance and Microsoft Office programs. 
  • Must have experience and be willing to perform aircraft run & taxi operations at the Dayton International Airport for the Premier maintenance department operations, including training.
  • Must have experience and be capable of performing as a QC level 2 collateral duty Safe-For-Flight inspector when needed.  
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and be assigned to a FAA mandated drug screening program.   
  • Must be team oriented and safety conscious demonstrating positive behavior and attitude.
  • Must be goal-oriented to meet and/or exceed quality maintenance actions and expectations. 
  • Must have demonstrated problem-solving skills.
