Mechanical Design Engineer - ECS Systems

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer - Systems to join our client's dynamic team.

Our client specialises in maintenance, completion, and refurbishment of both narrow and wide-body VIP aircraft, and offers cutting-edge solutions for corporate and private jet clients.

In this role, you will focus on designing system modifications related to various aircraft systems especially Environmental Control System (ECS) as well as Supplemental Heating, Equipment Cooling, Cabin Humidification, Soundproofing, Oxygen, Smoke Detection, and Water/Waste systems. You will also contribute to the modification of aircraft structures and interior furnishings.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical System Design:
    Develop and design mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Technical Documentation:
    Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications using CAD software.

  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Electrical, Avionics, and Structural Engineering, to ensure seamless integration of systems.

  • Problem-Solving:
    Analyze technical challenges, perform risk assessments, and develop innovative solutions to optimize system performance and reliability.

  • Testing and Validation:
    Oversee the testing of mechanical systems to verify performance, functionality, and safety. Document results and implement necessary modifications.

  • Project Management:
    Support project planning, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring timely delivery of design milestones.



Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical system design, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • ECS systems experience is a plus.
  • 3 years + of Group leader experience could qualify you for a Leader role.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations (EASA Part 21, FAA, etc.) and certification processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
