Description

The MH-60R/S Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor (AO-Type) will provide exceptional training to foreign military students with varying degrees of experience and knowledge on ordnance operations and maintenance on the MH-60R. All training conducted in accordance with naval aviation maintenance programs, publications, and governing instructions.


Essential Functions of the Position:

  • All typical Navy E-5/6 Aviation Ordnanceman (AO) O-level loading, unloading, arming, de-arming, release & control checks, troubleshooting, unscheduled, and scheduled maintenance functions on an MH-60R.
  • Specifically, to receive, inspect, package, store, handle, and process for shipment: airborne weapons, air launched torpedoes, sonobuoys, pyrotechnics and ammunition; maintain, test, assemble, load, download, arm, and de-arm all airborne weapons, aircraft gun systems, targets, sonobuoys, and pyrotechnics for aircraft carriage; receive, inspect, inventory, configure, test, and maintain Armament Weapons Support Equipment (AWSE), Ordnance Handling Equipment (OHE), Aircraft Armament Equipment (AAE) and Materials Handling Equipment (MHE); test and maintain aircraft armament release and control systems; and manage ordnance accounting systems.
  • Maintenance, inspection, and all ordnance activities in compliance with directives and reports applicable to Notice of Ammunition Reclassification (NAR), Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO), weapons certification program, and explosive handling certification program.
  • Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance/essential flight services in support of flight schedules.
  • Handling and servicing of aircraft.
  • Proper documentation, in accordance with applicable procedures, on all maintenance activities conducted, via paper logs and records, or NALCOMIS OOMA recordkeeping, if available.
  • Attending classroom and lab activities as a student (under instruction) and successfully completing a course of instruction to become fully qualified instructor.
  • Documenting all training activities in accordance with established procedures at hosting command and company requirements via paper recordkeeping and/or ASM.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman-Level technical knowledge of MH-60R ordnance systems and weapons loading.
  • Journeyman-Level technical knowledge of ordnance systems operations, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Journeyman-Level knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 Series, applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedure (NAMPSOPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and local NAMSOP instructions.
  • Journeyman-Level knowledge of Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS) OOMA, automated maintenance documentation system.
  • Comfortable and effective communicator, presenter, instructor, and trainer.
  • MH-60R O-level experience working as an AO. MH-60R experience required.
  • Candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check Local Records and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI), eligibility for a SECRET clearance.
  • Shall be able to obtain a DOD CAC card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems.
