Mid-Level KC-46 Maintenance Training System Mechanical & Structural Engineer

The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-Level KC-46 Maintenance Training System Mechanical & Structural Engineer to support Boeing Global Services and the KC-46 Maintenance Training System Support Center at McConnell AFB, KS.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities are reviewing, forecasting and researching obsolescent parts for Augmented Hardware Trainers, Support Equipment and Information Technology infrastructure to support the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages program
  • Assist and support impact assessments related to aircraft concurrency/modifications and their effect to 8 different Augmented Hardware Training Devices
  • Reviewing and assessing Instructor change requests that are submitted to the Training System Configuration Working Group as well as change requests for concurrency/modification
  • Present requirement, design and/or development revision and changes to formal change boards.
  • Edit existing drawings as impacted by hardware changes and obsolescence
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Experience with analysis of replacement of obsolescent parts and impacts in system
  • Experience reading and comprehending Electrical and Mechanical schematics/drawings
  • Experience with verbal and written communication cross program
  • Experience with CAD/CAM, CATIA

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiar with CMPro
  • Experience with Government/Military Customer

Summary Pay Range: $88,400- $119,600

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
