In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for assisting the Part-147 Training Manager in maintaining and developing the organization’s Part-147 approvals, including delivering high-quality aircraft type training and supporting examination processes. This role involves both instructional and administrative responsibilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the continued effectiveness of training programs.

Bostonair Technical Training Ltd (BTTL) is a leading EASA and UK CAA Part 147 approved provider of technical training for the aviation industry. We are seeking permanent instructors to support the planned growth of the organisation

What We’re Looking For:  

  • Proven experience as a technical instructor/assessor in a Part-147 or equivalent aviation training environment.   
  • In-depth knowledge of EASA Part-147/66 regulations and requirements.
  • Expertise in aircraft type training course development and delivery.
  • Familiarity with examination systems (e.g., GEMS) and assessment protocols.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating training materials in alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for global training delivery and instructor development.

Responsibilities include:

To provide support to the Part-147 Training Manager, including delegated duties, in support of the Part-147 approvals. Including but not limited to:

  • Carry out Part-147/66 aircraft type training as the instructor/assessor for theoretical and practical elements either at the customers facilities globally or via synchronous distance learning (SDL);
  • Act as the SME in the development of type training courses;
  • Maintain the training materials of the applicable manufacturer as listed in section 1.9 of the approved maintenance training organisation exposition (MTOE);
  • Conduct reviews of the training materials and update to include applicable Maintenance Data and Airworthiness Directives (AD) as required;
  • Assist the Part-147 Training Manager in the maintenance and development of Training Needs Analysis/Syllabi as required;
  • Support the Part-147 Examinations Manager in generating, reviewing and validating type training examination questions;
  • Assist the Part-147 Training Manager with keeping the instructor continuation training valid and applicable to the changing aviation environment;
  • Assist the Part-147 Training Manager with developing and assessing the competency of current and potentially contracted instructors;
  • Keep the Training Manager up to date with industry pedagogical training techniques and technology.

Minimum Previous Experience:

  • Previous experience as Part 147 Instructor.
  • Previous experience of delivering Boeing and/or Airbus Part 147 Theory and Practical Training, and who have Boeing and/or Airbus Part 147 theory/practical type course certificates.
  • EASA/UK CAA Part 66 Licence
  • Relevant Type Certificates 
  • 3 Years Relevant Experience working in one of the following organisations (or an acceptable equivalent organisation):
    • Part 145 Maintenance OrganisationPart CAMO Continuing Airworthiness Organisation
    • Part 147 Training Organisation
    • Part 21 Design Organisation
    • Part 21G Manufacturing Organisation 
  • Minimum 1 year Experience on the Relevant Aircraft Type to be approved 
    • 12 months experience in a Part 145 maintenance organisation performing aircraft maintenance on the aircraft type or similar type.
    • 12 months experience in a Part CAMO/Part M sub part G organisation performing continuing airworthiness tasks on the aircraft type or similar type.
    • 12 months experience in another Part 147 Training organisation delivering type training courses on the aircraft type or similar type.
    • 12 months experience in a Part 21G design organisation carrying out design or continued airworthiness activities on the aircraft type or similar type    
  • National Standard Train the Trainer Certificate.
