Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Avionics Subsystem Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) business unit is developing cutting edge technology that seamlessly analyzes, fuses, and distributes multi-domain information into command-and-control systems of systems to support all domains of war.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation
Perform analyses and estimate performance of components, subsystems and systems in accordance with governmental and commercial standards.
Configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems
Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications, and statements of work, and review artifacts from the supplier’s development effort
A successful Avionics Subsystem Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Avionics Subsystem Engineer (T03):
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Experience with RF principles and design
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with RF principles and design
Familiarity with PC computer architecture and associated elements: processing hardware, operating systems, board support packages, messaging middleware, networking standards/protocols (e.g. 1553, 1394, Ethernet), or data storage
Familiarity with aircraft guidance, navigation, control principles and design
Familiarity with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.)
