Production, Repair Station - Sanford, Florida

Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the operation of assigned projects at the repair station.  He is responsible for managing and directing all maintenance functions provided under the repair station certificate and operations specifications on his assigned project(s).  The Project Manager must be thoroughly familiar with applicable regulations and reports to the Director of Maintenance.


Duties:

  • Ensuring there is a sufficient number of personnel with the training or knowledge and experience to perform the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alterations.
  • Ensuring all assigned hangar and line maintenance work is properly documented and accomplished with approved or acceptable data.
  • Ensuring that the layout of the hangar is efficient and the equipment is adequate to perform all work under the repair station certificate.
  • Being familiar with the methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alterations.
  • Managing all assigned hangar maintenance and line maintenance activity of the repair station.
  • Ensuring established safety procedures are observed.
  • Overseeing and directing Production Managers
  • Performing other duties as directed or required
  • Communicating with the customer and keeping management updated with project status
  • Preparing and updating work flow charts
  • Evaluating work requirements and preparing bids
  • Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of assigned project(s)
  • Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with assigned project(s)
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on project(s) as needed
  • Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks accurately and on time


The Project Manager may delegate their duties to specific qualified personnel as necessary, however such delegation does not relieve the Project Manager of their responsibilities to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR) under the Avocet Aviaiton Services (AAS) Repair Station Manual.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years’ experience in a heavy and/or line maintenance setting
  • Airframe & Powerplant Certification (required, no exceptions)
  • Language skills in English at full professional proficiency level 
  • Passenger to freighter conversion experience preferred
  • Ability to undergo and pass criminal background checks and security threat assessments resulting in the issuance of badges with AOA access at the Orlando Sanford International Airport and the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, and Ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods and stand on uneven surfaces including but not limited to ladder rungs; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear.  The employee is sometimes required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently exposed to heights and must be able to perform physical activity while utilizing lift equipment and wearing proper safety attire. The employee is required to walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
