Purchasing Supervisor

• Assist in managing supplier portfolios, and establishing structured supplier relationships, while coordinating and administering supply agreements with on-going supply partners.
• Materials risk assessment and lead time profiling by supplier to benefit the materials acquisition process.
• Identifying and developing potential suppliers in support of growth and operational efficiency objectives.
• Working in concert with the production department overseeing the delivery process.
• Developing inventory systems to minimize inventory and increase turns.
• Assist in negotiating LTAs with key suppliers that established fixed pricing and shortened lead times.
• Other related responsibilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and abilities:

• 5 plus years of experience in a purchasing agent or purchasing supervisor position. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Purchasing, or Management preferred.
• Excellent leadership skills: ability to mentor, motivate and direct staff.
• Must have experience developing Purchasing policies and procedures.
• Must have experience executing vendor contracts and price negotiation skills.
• Ability to make sound purchasing decisions based on knowledge & experience.
• Must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills: strong technical skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of MRP systems.
• Experience managing a vast and diverse vendor network.
• Experience with MRO purchasing.
• CPSM, CSM, APICS or Equivalent Designation a plus!
• Comfortable in a fast paced environment with short turnaround times.
• Heavy documentation skills needed to track schedule, pricing, budgets, backorders and inventory.
• Familiar with IS9001 and AS9100

MIN/MAX: $85-$95k
